The certificate qualifies you to independently plan, deliver and evaluate a series of cycling activity sessions to groups of beginner and intermediate level children or adults.
What are the benefits of becoming a Level 2 Coach?
Coaches at this level are vital to ensure that everyone involved in cycling at the grass roots level has a positive and enjoyable experience, and ensuring the ongoing future and success of cycling in Britain.
A nationally recognised coaching qualification.
£ 5 million personal indemnity insurance.
Access to free coaching and technical support.
A free monthly coaching newsletter.
A quarterly coaching magazine.
Go-Ride Gears 3 and 4 Coaching Workbooks with over 30 different activities.
Level 2 coaches can also plan their own sessions.
Level 2 coaches can use a greater range of environments to deliver cycling activities compared to the Level 1 coaches. At Level 2, coaches can also use non-technical off-road terrain and outdoor grass or hard surface cycle tracks.

Do I need to bring anything to the course?
Coaches are required to supply their own bike and helmet for taking part in the 'Cycling Techniques' module. Bikes used in the session should be in good working order and be capable of performing a range of basic skills (i.e. manoeuvring around cones). And have two working brakes. Candidates do not need to be competent cyclists to take part in the activities. If you are unable to take part in this session for any reason (e.g. illness, no bike or helmet) please inform Coaching and Education prior to the course so that alternative arrangements can be made to involve you in the activities.
