Cyclocross

How about something a bit different over the winter, for all you Mountain Bikers and Roadies?

There are now 12 Cross Leagues scattered around the country, most have races every weekend.

You can ride any bike you like (apart from in the national trophy races, which are the cross equivalent to the NPS) and entry is pretty cheap. Races normally last between 45 minutes to an hour plus one lap, in most leagues everyone over 16 races together and courses vary from around school fields to technical singletrack.

The atmosphere at cross races is pretty relaxed and the short races means, you know when the pain will end. I have extracted all the league and national trophy dates from the BC website where you can get more info. For those of you over 30 there is the Masters World Championships in Belgium in January, an experience no crosser should miss.
